This steel bottom bracket allows for use of FSA mountain bike cranks with MegaExo 24 mm axles in BB30 bottom bracket housings.

The GXP system does not rely on a lateral load to adjust the bearing clearance as other systems do, but the left bearing is clamped between the bottom bracket axle and the left crank arm. This allows the right-hand bearing to move axially freely on the bottom bracket axle. This prevents premature bearing wear.
